She Who Needs to Get Busy on Some Ideas!

Fried Apples

Fried apples have been a menu staple my entire life. I remember watching my grandma make them, as well as my mom.

They go great with pork or chicken dishes or anytime you want something delicious to add to the table. You can spoon them over vanilla ice cream, serve along side spice cake or just enjoy the spicy, caramel goodness all by itself.

These are also really easy to make.

Here ar the simple ingredients. Figure on half an apple per person.

Slice and core your apple, leaving the peel on. You can do this while your butter is melting in the skillet. I like to use a non-stick skillet for the apples.

Once the butter is melted, add apples, cinnamon and sugar. Cover and let simmer, stirring occasionally.

Cook until the apples are tender and the cinnamon, butter and sugar have created a beautiful caramel sauce on the apples.

Then enjoy! Just look at all that caremel-y deliciousness.

Fried Apples

1 apple

1 tbsp. butter

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/3 cup brown sugar

Wash apple then core and slice. I like medium-thick slices (about 1/3 inch). Melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. When melted, add apples, cinnamon and sugar. Stir until apples are coated. Cover and simmer until apples are tender (about 15 minutes) and the sauce is thick and makes you want to eat it with a spoon.

Inhale the fragrant scent and enjoy!

The Pink Boots

I arrived home last night to find this box waiting for me.

This beautiful, wonderful box that held the most fabulous treasure inside…

I couldn’t take it anymore and finally ordered the cowboy boots I have been drooling over for months.

Yes  – they are pink… bold, bodacious, beautiful pink!

And here is one of the reasons I chose these boots… they are handcrafted right here in the good ol’ USA!

And I loved the color…

And the detail. Look at the detail!

I wasn’t sure about the square toe – but boy are these boots comfy. The leather is super soft.

I think I’m in love…

These boots are part of Justin Boot’s Women’s Punchy line.

Pinterest

Have you fallen into the latest vortex of online social craziness?

Oh, good.

I’m glad someone is still sane and safe.

Because I have joined the fray hanging out on  Pinterest and found that it is quite addictive.

If you haven’t heard of Pinterest, it is this cool social website where you can post photos (linked) and people repost them, sharing all sorts of wonderful things through “pins.” You’ll find everything from fashions, hairstyles and makeup tips to recipes, great quotes, photos that make your heart melt and even wedding ideas.

To play, you have to be invited, either by someone you know who is already using Pinterest, or you can request an invitation direct from the site.

I absolutely love it. Every time I check in, I found 59 new things that are exciting, interesting, humorous, and engaging. I’ve already seen dozens of recipes I want to try and, being a very visual person, I can’t tell you how much fun it is to see everything as an image.

Check it out! You’ll be glad you did. Just make sure you allot yourself plenty of time for browsing and pinning. You could be there a while!
