My journey to an entertaining at home specialist began when I was growing up on a working farm in the country. It seemed we frequently had company for dinner and entertained large gatherings of guests most every major holiday. My mom taught me many lessons about feeding crowds and being a gracious host even though I was a tomboy until the time I started high school. Despite my interest in bugs, dirt and anything that involved large farm equipment, I was also the odd child who loved to bake and always had a clean room because I wanted it to look pretty. Such an at-odds combination, I know! Eventually, I morphed into what my husband describes as a full-fledged girlie-girl, who is no longer interested in bugs and dirt, although I still have an occasional passing interest in farm equipment.
After trying to escape my country roots by moving to a big city, I found myself back on the farm for what I hoped would be a brief layover. Then I met Captain Cavedweller, and life took a different direction.
With a sweet tooth that runs in overdrive, I love to bake, enjoy cooking and have a passion for home decor. In my spare time, I love to write novels with happy endings. Follow my adventures in writing and publishing at shannahatfield.com
Captain Cavedweller and I enjoy making people feel welcome in our country home, where we are terrorized by Drooley, our cat with slobber issues, have a parade of wildlife traipsing through our backyard and often find ourselves entrenched in odd situations.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your time here and come back often. I look forward to providing you with entertaining tips, easy recipes and mindless entertainment.
Happy Entertaining!
