Years ago I did some serious damage to my foot that resulted in some really painful spells of arthritis.

Due to that fact, I got rid of all my cute shoes and soon found my closet full of things like this:

Blah, bleck, boring – but they were comfortable.

Then one day, I woke up and realized I was tired of blah, bleck, boring shoes and went skipping down an entirely new path.

I’m so glad I did!

And, according to Captain Cavedweller, I’ve become a cute-shoe addict.

I can’t help it. Like chocolate, I spent too many years without any!

So the other day, I was quickly flipping through a website and these screamed out to me.

I couldn’t ignore their pleading for me to own them, so I thought about it for approximately 16.5 seconds before I bought them. They are so cute, so fun and I absolutely love them. I got them from Modcloth.com

Even CC agreed they were pretty cute shoes – for an up and coming shoe addict.

The other day I was ranting to my friend about my new Pink Boots and how much I loved them. She casually mentioned she had some boots that hurt her feet and asked if I might like them.

Well, yeah!

So she brought me said boots and I decided I had been granted a gift from the boot fairy. Not only are they cute and pink, but they are also broken in and so, so comfortable.

They’ve got a great sole on them and did I mention how comfortable they are?

I love the pink shaft with the contrasting blue stitching.

The other day I locked myself into my office and spent the evening absorbed in writing my next novel.

If I don’t surface or make any sounds for a couple hours, Captain Cavedweller will come check on me to make sure I am still alive and kicking.

When he came in that evening he asked if I wanted anything. I said a little spoon of ice cream would be lovely.

He came back with this…

Needless to say, I was quite impressed.

I think he might just be a keeper.

Just a few weeks ago, The Heinous Cat disappeared. I wrote about him coming home, much to our everlasting relief after being on the lam for 12 days.

Due to some very disturbing activity in our backyard the past few days, we’ve been wondering just exactly where he went and what he did while he was gone.

In just the past two days we have counted six, that’s right, SIX,  stray cats trying to make themselves at home. At first we thought we were seeing things, but nope, a head count revealed six extra cats. All big and way too friendly to be wild.

With The Heinous Cat and Miss Maizy, we really don’t want any more cats around, but the drop-in guests have been a bit reluctant to leave.

We are wavering between two theories.

1. The Heinous Cat was tired of only having Miss Maizy to swat at and be mean to so he went on a crusade to recruit some new blood. He told them it was a real happening party at his house, offering up incentives to get them to come. Unfortunately, his new recruits could all slap him into next Thursday without even blinking.

2. The Heinous Cat got lost and at every house he came to he told the resident cat about how much he missed his home and his Mama and his Captain Cavedweller. He cried about how they took such good care of him and he just wanted to find his way back home. It got the cats he talked to thinking about checking out some digs where all they are expected to do is eat, sleep and occasionally wander over for a nice back rub or head pet and they decided to come check it out.

3. Someone had way too many cats and decided to drive out in the country and dump them and they somehow ended up at our house.

Yeah, I’m going with theory number one myself.

Anyone need six stray cats?
