Hobby Lobby

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit a store I had never been in before.

Boy, was that a mistake!

I will forevermore be an adoring fan and dedicated shopper of Hobby Lobby!

If you’ve never been in one before, they are the most amazing places to shop. You can find everything from craft supplies and fabric to party supplies, home decor and so much more. The best part – everything is so inexpensive. As in ridiculously priced. As in I couldn’t fill my cart fast enough and an hour later had to be drug under much protest out of the store by Hubby with only three bags full when I wanted 13.

You literally could get everything you need for savvy entertaining here – well except the food. But seriously, tablecoverings, wall decor, I even saw an aisle with decorative plates.

If you live in an area where you can go to a Hobby Lobby, check them out. You’ll be glad you did. Your husband, probably not quite so much.

A little more than a year ago, I fell in love… with a digital SLR camera.

Not just any camera, mind you, but the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. One was purchased for me to use at work and I loved, loved, loved it. I dreamed about it. I wished it was mine. I wanted to bring it home and pet it and call it George.

So I decided to save all my pennies and buy my own. Just a few weeks ago, I busted open the piggy bank and ordered the Canon EOS Rebel T2.

My history with Canon Rebels goes way back to my newspaper days when I used to burn through a couple rolls of film a day. It was a great camera and despite many user errors, took really nice photos.

I discovered the lenses from my old Rebel would interchange with the new DSLR cameras and knew without a doubt I had to have one. Not that I didn’t have a functional camera. My little point and shoot digital took good photos and required no thought on my part other than to hold it steady when I pushed the button. But I wanted something more.

Something that could take photos up close and personal. Something like

this…

and this…

and this.

I’m beyond giddy with joy with my new camera.

As soon as I figure out how to use all the 839 functions it has available, I’ll let you know!

I like my shoes to look clean and polished, really I do. But due to my lazy slug nature and the fact that I hate polishing them, they don’t always look their best.

Then, the other day Hubby and I were browsing around one of the local western stores and I found Justin Quick Shine Sponge.

Hello?

Why didn’t someone tell me about this sooner?

With a few quick swipes, my shoes have gone from looking dull and beat-up to shiny and polished.

Really, it is that easy! And here’s the best part – it cost less than $2!

What a deal!

So, if you want to try it yourself, check your local western store, shoe store or I found it online here.
